Important Notice Regarding Novel Coronavirus, COVID-19
In light of the rapidly changing and fluid situation surrounding the COVID-19 (novel coronavirus) outbreak, we at the Allergy & Asthma Center want to assure you that we take the safety and welfare of our patients very seriously. Our highest priority is to protect the health and well-being of our patients, families, and staff.
Our team continues to monitor news information from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the Georgia Department of Public Health, and we are following the protocols recommended by these entities.
We have implemented additional measures to mitigate the spread of the virus including:
- Removing non-essential items from waiting areas and exam rooms (magazines, books, etc).
- Instituting additional cleaning protocols for waiting rooms and exam rooms.
- Assessing patients for symptoms such as fever when they schedule appointments.
- Asking that only patients and essential guests (parents/guardians/caregivers) come for appointments and injection visits to encourage social distancing in our waiting room.
If you are concerned you are showing signs of an infectious disease (fever, fatigue, cough) your best course of action is to contact your primary care physician’s office and follow their directives.
At this time, testing is not available at our offices for COVID-19 or flu.
We are asking patients that have a fever, recent travel, or exposure to suspected or confirmed COVID-19 patients to cancel or reschedule appointments to reduce the spread of the virus.
Our goal is to keep our environment as safe as possible and provide continuity of care for our patients with allergic diseases and asthma. As we all do our part to reduce the spread of the virus, we thank you in advance for your cooperation.
